London, United Kingdom: Solarcentury in Enviromena Partner in United Arab Emirates

Solarcentury, the London based European solar innovation company, has entered into a business partnering agreement with Enviromena Power Systems, the leading developer of solar projects in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

It is anticipated the agreement between the two leading photovoltaic downstream energy companies will successfully add value to both companies combining Enviromena's well established reputation and on ground experience in the Middle East with Solarcentury's extensive product design experience and international standing. The companies will apply their respective product development & project delivery capabilities to commercial and residential rooftop solar energy solutions in the Middle East.

Enviromena Power Systems finance, design, install and operate solar power plants and has built Abu Dhabi's leading team of solar engineers and project managers with collectively over 50 years of photovoltaic design and project implementation experience. Enviromena has completed several high profile projects across the UAE including the largest grid connected solar plant in the Middle East, the Masdar 10MW Solar Power Plant.

Both organisations have attracted a broad base of local and international investors, including some of the world's leading venture capital firms.

"Solar photovoltaics is the world's fastest growing energy market, and for good reason. We need to tackle energy security and climate change today and with the very best low carbon technologies. To do this we must work together to find the most innovative, scalable solutions. I have great hope in the solar industry coming together to find a way to secure our energy future and this partnering agreement between Solarcentury and leading solar developer Enviromena is just one example of how we can join forces to build and show the world just how good our future can look."

Sami Khoreibi, CEO, Enviromena Power Systems commented, "As the leading solar developer in the Middle East, Enviromena strives to offer our clients best of breed technologies and innovative solar solutions by seeking partnerships with leading technology companies. Our collaboration with Solarcentury, the UK's leading solar energy company is an example of this and we look forward to a successful long term partnership, particularly as the need for solar energy steadily increases across the Middle East and North Africa." Khoreibi continued "This is a very exciting time for solar across the Gulf, particularly given the strong support provided by the UAE Government, the recently announced renewable energy targets and the Middle Eastern climate which is very well suited for wide scale solar implementation."

Derry Newman, CEO, Solarcentury added: "We believe our building integrated solar products have a major role to play in the built environment, and together with the experience and vision of Environmena we hope to shape some of the most innovative low carbon planning emerging in the UAE. We are offering support to Environmena in working to find the best solar building products for their projects using the experience of our own engineers and designers. We hope the partnering will prosper and produce some really ground breaking solar photovoltaics, setting the standard for low carbon development."
