Kuanyin Township, Taiwan: Green Energy Technology Expands Capacity in Taiwan and China

The Board of Taiwan-based solar wafer company Green Energy Technology (GET) has approved a plan to expand its production capacity.

In Taiwan, Green Energy Technology will expand its ingot growing capacity from 300MW to 360MW by the end of 2009. In addition, the company will expand its wafer slicing capacity from 235MW to 300MW.

At its China facilities, the company will grow its ingot growing capacity to 50MW next year. 2. Wafer slicing capacity there will also be taken to 50MW.

“GET’s ingot & wafer production in Q3, 2009 fully run for strong demand of high quality wafer, pushing GET to expand capacity soon,” said Hur-Lon Lin, President of GET. “GET keeps decreasing the cost per watt while developing high efficiency wafers of more than 16.2%~16.4% at the same time.”

"In the first step, GET’s slicing capacity in China Shandong to 30MW is also on schedule in Q4 2009 and GET plans to expand further to catch the ramping domestic market," Lin said. "GET is going for the goal of being the best wafer maker in the world."
