Germany: Dutch Eneco Acquires Ecostream
Eneco
Holding N.V. in the Netherlands will take over the activities
of Ecostream, the German solar company. Until now Ecostream was
part of the Econcern group, which became insolvent at the end
of May. With Eneco as the new owner Ecostream will be able to
continue its business as usual.
Eneco
is one of the leading players in the Dutch energy market. Eneco
applies an integrated distribution strategy and specialises in
the production, transmission, trading, supply and metering of
energy (electricity, gas and heat) and related products and services.
Eneco is making a transition to becoming a sustainable energy
company and will continue to make substantial investments in the
area of sustainable energy in the coming years. In this process
the acquisition of Ecostream is a strategically important step
in order to extend the competencies in the solar sector.
