Vicenza,
Italy: Conergy Signs Agreement for 1.7MW Photovoltaic System
Conergy
Italy has signed an agreement with Fiere di Parma Spa for a 1.7
MW photovoltaic system fully integrated on to the roof of the
Parma Trade Fair building.
The
project had been included as part of a plan for a renovation of
the fairgrounds that will lead to an increase in exhibition space
and to the revision of services to exhibitors and visitors.
On
the approximately 17,000 m2 of roof top space, the PV system will
place 23,121 thin film modules from First Solar FS-275 together
with 6-phase inverters Conergy IPG 300K. The plant, with total
power of 1.734 MW, will be installed after removal of the asbestos
roof. Remediation will follow a phase of covering over the aluminum
structure designed for mounting of photovoltaic modules.
The
photovoltaic system will be connected to the electricity grid
and energy produced will be used mainly by the Fair of Parma,
with the surplus fed into the grid.
The
plant will be monitored by the system Conergy SmartControl which
allows continuous monitoring and remote use.
Based
on the angle of inclination of the modules, their orientation
to the South and local irradiation, it is estimated that the photovoltaic
system will produce 1,892 MWh per year.
This
project is a good result for Conergy Italy, confirmed by the words
from the Director General Giuseppe Sofia, "Winning a prestigious
project such as the Fair of Parma Spa is truly a great satisfaction
for our company. This is one of the largest integrated plants
on the roof in Italy and the largest contract in terms of power
plant, in the history of Conergy Italy."
The
system fully integrated Parma Fair shows how the PV, even large,
may represent an energy solution which also addresses both environmental
and architectural issues.
