Lecce,
Italy: Green Energy Solution Inaugurates Two MW of PV Tracking
Systems
Green
Energy Solution Inaugurates 2 MW of photovoltaic mono-axis trackers
system plants in Sanarica and San Cassiano Green Energy Solution
s.r.l. , a company specialized in large-scale photovoltaic systems,
completed has 2 MWp photovoltaic solar plant in San Cassiano and
Sanarica - Lecce (in the Italian Region of Apulia).
Each
field, connected to the main grid last December, consists of 29
SunCarrier mono-axis solar trackers – SunCarrier 6.0: the estimated
power production of the two parks is about 3.350 MWh/year which
will contribute to avoid the emissions of 1.742 ton of CO2 per
year and satisfy the electric power consumption of about 1.200
homes. These projects are part of the first phase program which
plan to connect to the grid a total of 12MW by the end of 2010.
The
plants were completed in six months and required the contribution
of more than 50 workers and the services of skilled local companies
employed for civil, mechanical and electrical services. A visitor
center is also available on the site; it will be used by local
teachers for education on solar power and other renewable energy
sources.
"These
plants are an important milestone for our company, confirming
solar power systems are financeable today and make good business
sense," said Ing. Michele Giacalone, the CEO of Green Energy Solution.
"The realization of these projects, which will be replicated in
other logistics centres both in Apulia and Sicily, confirms our
leader 's position in the development of large scale complex solar
power plants in Italy."
