Company, SAP
Cupertino
Electric, Inc. (CEI) has completed construction of the first solar
array in the Americas for business software leader SAP. The solar
array, installed in Palo Alto, Calif., represents a component
of SAP's effort to further increase its sustainability.
The
roof top solar array covering two buildings at SAP's Palo Alto
campus will produce an average of approximately 192,400 kWh per
year. The energy generated by SAP's solar array during its lifetime
is the equivalent of removing 506 cars off the road.
SAP
is the leader in business software and was the highest-ranked
software company in the 2009 Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes.
The company recently announced an increased strategic focus on
sustainability and a goal to drastically reduce its carbon footprint
by the year 2020. The solar installation completed by Cupertino
Electric, Inc.'s Energy Alternatives Group was designed to assist
SAP in achieving its stated goals.
"Cupertino
Electric has proven to be a valuable and trusted business partner
to SAP," said Tracy Prentiss, VP Business Development for SAP
Palo Alto. "Their photovoltaic division was instrumental in design
development, permitting and construction of the first solar power
array in the Americas for SAP. The project was delivered on time,
on budget and with an extremely high degree of professionalism.
Their commercial electrical division has been called upon numerous
times to support our needs and, in response, has provided the
highest quality service levels with competitive price points.”
