Chairman
Dr. Alexander Kirsch welcomed numerous guests from the worlds
of politics and economy, amongst them Dr. Stefan Rudolph, Secretary
of State in the Ministry of Economics of federal state Mecklenburg-Western
Pomerania, Dr. Rosemarie Wilcken, Mayor of the Hanseatic City
of Wismar as well as Klaus Pick, Vice President of ZVEH (Central
Association of the German Electric and Information Technology
Trade).
The
investment in the new factory amounted to approximately EUR 23
million.
Due
to the expansion, the company is creating 250 new jobs which makes
it one of biggest employers in Wismar. The new production facilities
cover a gross area of 47,000 square meters.
Every
day up to 3,000 modules will roll off the assembly line. This
amount of modules can supply 70,000 German households.
Compared
to Centrosolar Group AG‘s previous production volume in Wismar,
the output is going to be five times as high as with the old factory.
Five assembly lines will produce crystalline modules primarily
for grid-connected systems.
Additionally
modules for standalone systems will be crafted that will for example
generate power to electrical gadgets on boats and caravans. The
new facilities will also produce in-roof modules for roof-integration
as well as customised modules.
CentroSolar
explains that the new solar module factory is almost fully automated,
which helps ensure not only high standards but also a globally
competitive production. The first assembly line at the new facility
has already been running since August this year.
