Golmayo,
Spain: Solarig Breaks Ground on Eight PV Projects in Italy
Solarig
Group began construction this month on eight photovoltaic parks
in the regions of Puglia and Piedmont in Italy, a country that
offers attractive legislation for this type of project.
In
the Puglia region, Solarig Group will build 7 parks, 6 of which
will be mounted on fixed structures, each with a 0.99 MWp capacity.
The seventh, of 0.68 MWp, will use double-axis solar tracking
technology. Likewise, Solarig Group is building another 1.5 MWp
PV park with fixed structures in the region of Piedmont.
Solarig
Group will carry out all phases of development, construction,
connection and operation of the projects, through its Italian
subsidiaries. After their connection to the grid, which is foreseen
for December of 2009, the new operational parks will produce enough
energy to be able to supply electricity to more than 2,700 households.
In
the next few months Solarig Group will undertake the construction
of more than 30 MW in different regions of Italy. These first
projects mean the take off of Solarig Group´s international development
plan in leading markets of the sector such as Italy, United States,
Korea, China, Greece and Bulgaria.
The
Group has a long experience in the development, construction,
operation and maintenance of photovoltaic parks in Spain, where
it has a total installed power of 25 MW.
