PV
Powered, a leader in reliable solar inverter technology, has announced
their first entry into the commercial inverter market. PV Powered
explains that the new PVP30kW inverter was developed to set the
industry standard for reliability and has simultaneously achieved
a market-leading 94% CEC efficiency rating. The combination of
these advantages, plus built-in data capture for performance monitoring
and a modular design that is easy to install and service, makes
the PVP30kW the ideal choice for commercial PV projects up to
150 kW.

The
new PVP30kW inverter is based on the field-proven architecture
that is embedded in all inverters shipped by PV Powered since
2004. This highly-integrated architecture is responsible for the
PVP30kW only containing one-third the number of components of
comparable inverters.

parts mean fewer connections and fewer failure points,” Patterson
added. “And our streamlined design approach also enables rapid
development of future models and product enhancements.”
The
company says the reliability of the new commercial inverter is
enhanced by the use of best-in-class components such as an application-specific
integrated power module, long-life film capacitors, a custom-designed,
98%-efficient, Energy Star® rated transformer, and a medical grade
power supply to protect sensitive electronic components and ensure
maximum reliability.
The
PVP30kW was designed with an awareness that maximum energy harvest
leads to maximum return on investment for commercial solar projects.
That’s why remote performance monitoring capability is included
at no extra charge, enabling problems to be recognized and solved
quickly with fewer field service trips. Other added features,
including night time disconnect for reduced tare losses and a
“soft start” circuit to eliminate nuisance faults, contribute
to squeezing out the highest yield from a system day after day
for years to come.

inverter installers and system designers. Installation is simplified
by the inclusion of integrated load rated AC & DC disconnects,
field configurable 208V and 480V AC outputs, line filters to meet
FCC EMC standards, and a modular architecture that weighs far
