Irvine, CA, USA: Lumeta Launches Low-Slope Solar Product Line

Lumeta, a provider of roof integrated solar energy products, today announced the launch of the PowerPly 380 Roof Integrated Photovoltaic Module for low-slope commercial buildings and high-density, multi-family homes.

“Lumeta’s design and engineering teams are experienced roofing contractors and solar designers who understand the unique attributes of commercial buildings and how solar power can be integrated within these building envelopes,” said Stephen Torres, Lumeta’s Chief Operating Officer. “The PowerPly 380 leverages 30 years of roofing expertise in a solar module optimized for roof integrated commercial installations, eliminating the need for racking or other mounting structures, and delivering improved roof membrane compatibility, greater power density than other roof integrated solutions and installation advantages that lower overall costs for building owners.”

Lumeta is a wholly owned subsidiary of DRI Companies, the parent company of one of the largest roofing contractors in the U.S. with major commercial and residential building customers. DRI formally launched Lumeta and its first roof integrated solar product line, the Solar S-Tile, at the Pacific Coast Builders Conference in May.

Lumeta’s PowerPly 380 flat-roof solar module, along with its Solar S-Tile and Flat Tile products, will be on display at Solar Power 2007 in Long Beach, CA from September 24-27, North America’s largest annual tradeshow for solar power manufacturers, developers and service providers. Lumeta can be found in booth 344.

Incorporating design expertise from DRI Companies’ team of roofing technicians and solar engineers, Lumeta’s PowerPly 380 uses a fully adhered attachment method to avoid roof penetrations and mounting structures, reducing installation time and associated costs. The Teflon front sheet uses no glass, further reducing module weight, and the panel’s low profile eliminates water ponding and significantly reduces wind up-lift. Lumeta will offer the PowerPly 380 through DRI Energy, DRI Companies’ turnkey solar subsidiary. The company addresses each step of the solar and roof system installation process, from design and engineering to finance, rebate administration support and system monitoring services. PowerPly 380 will also be available for direct purchase from Lumeta by qualified installers.

“Our commercial customers throughout the country trust DRI’s roofing expertise,” said Timothy Davey, CEO of DRI Companies. “We’re excited to offer them solar products and services that meet their growing needs for solar power without compromising the functionality of their roof system. The development of the PowerPly 380 grew naturally from our existing expertise and experience in the design and installation of low-slope roof systems.”
