San
Rafael, CA, USA: SunLink Signs Supply Agreement for Nanosolar
Roof Mount System
SunLink® Corporation has signed a supply agreement with thin-film
photovoltaic manufacturer Nanosolar, Inc. Under the terms of the
contract, SunLink is developing and will supply a custom, flat
roof system that is the preferred mounting solution for Nanosolar
Utility Panels.
Developed
as part of the largest single Solar America Initiative award by
the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the Nanosolar SunLink roof
mount system is said by the companies to be innovative, cost-effective
solution, featuring:
•
Easy, fast installation: A simple three-step process (slide-in
blocks, rotate-down links, click-in panels) eliminates the need
for installation tools and results in rapid on-site assembly.
•
Cost savings: Specifically designed to reduce the amount of overall
materials used, as well as to employ durable recycled materials,
the system is available at extremely low cost.
•
Roof-friendly design: The lightweight, low-tilt system requires
no penetrations or additional ballast on many flat roofs. As with
all SunLink mounting systems, the Nanosolar SunLink solution is
optimally designed and engineered through sophisticated computer
simulations, as well as extensive wind-tunnel tests to analyze
the behavior of wind on and around commercial rooftops.
“This
partnership is a testament to the growing interest in commercial
thin-film applications across the industry,” said Christopher
Tilley, CEO, SunLink. “We’re excited to team with a forward-thinking
leader in technology development such as Nanosolar to pioneer
our thin-film product line and to further our engineering milestones.”
“We
are pleased to be working closely with SunLink as part of our
DOE Solar America Initiative,” said Brian Sager, Co-Founder and
Vice President Corporate Development, Nanosolar Inc., and the
principal investigator for this project.
“The
Nanosolar SunLink system for flat rooftops is a product of two
plus years of collaboration to significantly reduce the levelized
cost of electricity for commercial solar rooftops.” Sager continued,
“The system combines the Nanosolar Utility Panel’s low cost and
significant balance of system advantages with SunLink’s proven
mounting system design and experience to create an easy and fast-to-install
solution. We look forward to working with our strategic partners
to implement this system on rooftops in the U.S. and worldwide.”
