Anaheim, CA, USA: BP Solar Launches New Solar Module and Certified Installer Program in US

BP Solar today announced two additions to its residential solar offer, further solidifying, what the company says its position as provider of highest lifetime value across all types of solar installations.

Beginning in 2010, BP Solar will introduce its new 215-watt black module ideal for residential installations and launch the company’s Certified Installer Program in the US.

BP Solar’s new 215-watt photovoltaic module is designed to bring the best of the company’s solar products together in an aesthetically pleasing all-black module for residential rooftop application. The company says the BP 3215B PV product features: a long-lasting, innovative frame design with a rounded profile for better handling comfort and optimized for use with anti-theft bolts to increase security. It can withstand heavy snow loads even in end mounting; flexible mounting and reduced soiling losses maximize energy production; improved reliability with effective cooling thanks to Integrabus™ technology, which ensures reliable cable management while positioning the bypass diodes and junction box away from the cells for cooler operation and greater energy production.

“The residential market continues to grow as consumers recognize the value of going solar,” BP Solar CEO Reyad Fezzani said. “By enhancing our offer with these residentially focused products and services, BP Solar is positioned to provide the highest lifetime value to consumers who want to minimize their impact on both the environment and their pocketbook.”

The Certified Installer Program (CIP) is an initiative by BP Solar to create a worldwide network of installers who are recognized for superior workmanship, safety, and installation performance. The program complements and builds on local accreditation, licensing and training programs. “

BP Solar has been training and certifying residential solar installers in Germany since 2005 and more recently in Spain and Australia, resulting in improved installation quality and customer satisfaction,” Fezzani said. “The time is right for us to introduce this new level of service delivery to the US residential market.”

BP Solar says its network of authorized distributors, installers and resellers already includes some of the most experienced and knowledgeable practitioners in the solar industry. Now via the Certified Installer Program, these experts will be accessible in a greater number of regions and offer more products and services.

By choosing a BP Solar Certified Installer, customers will benefit from complete service from an installer who:
has been trained on photovoltaic systems and on the sale and installation of BP Solar products;
maintains the highest standards for safe installation and system operations;
holds all required state and local licenses;
is uniquely able to offer customers enhanced products and services.

The certification brings peace of mind to the end customer, as an assurance for quality of delivery. The CIP offer contains additional services to customers, e.g. the BP Solar Service Warranty, which complements the existing product warranty.
