Bogota,
Colombia: Proinso and MecaSolar Awarded Colombian Solar Projects
The
Institute of Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions for not
Interconnected Areas (IPSE)- the public entity under the Ministry
of Mines and Energy of Colombia, has awarded Spanish companies
PROINSO and MECASOLAR in Joint Venture with Fulgor Energía a solar
project.
The award includes the the supply, assembly, testing, commissioning
and maintenance of ten systems of photovoltaic solar energy trackers
in five locations in areas not connected to the national electricity
system. The award amounts to 3,000 million Pesos (1,026,460 Euros)
and also represents the entry of the photovoltaic solar energy
Spanish group, OPDE into the Colombian market.
The
systems will be in Guajira and Bolivar in the north of the country
for electricity to schools and hospitals. Specifically, 10 trackers
of 12 kWp each will be installed, manufactured by MECASOLAR with
SMA off grid inverters.
The
locations of the installations are as follows:
NAZARETH
(4 trackers): District area belonging to the municipality of Uribia,
La Guajira department. Located in the area known as the high Guajira,
about 8 hours from Riohacha, 190 kilometers in a straight line,
real 240 km due to terrain difficulties by land. Wayuu culture
center in the foothills of the mountains of Macuira and unique
ecosystem in the world.
PORT STAR (4 trackers): District area belonging to the municipality
of Uribia, La Guajira department. Located on the Atlantic coast,
about 20 kilometers from Nazareth.
FORT
ISLAND (2 trackers): District area belonging to the municipality
of Cartagena, Bolivar department. Located on the Atlantic coast.
Transport is made by air, Bogotá-Montería. Later Montería-Lorica-San
Bernardo del Viento- Paso Nuevo-by land, and finally by sea, about
11 miles from New Step in tour boat.
The
project includes a section on technology transfer through general
and technical training in Colombia to develop the project and
to allow the future expansion of projects in other remote areas
of the country.
