Mateo, CA, USA: Tioga Energy Appoints New Vice President Sales
Renewable
energy services provider Tioga Energy today announced the appointment
of a new Vice President of Sales. Marc Roper, a solar industry
veteran with 15 years of market experience, will lead client sales
opportunities: adding value to Tioga Energy's existing projects
base and pursuing new opportunities in a ripe renewable energy
market.
Marc
Roper (no relation to Executive Vice President Preston Roper)
holds expertise in solar energy technologies, power purchase agreements,
and regulatory and political trends. He was recently the Executive
Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Turner Renewable Energy
(formerly DT Solar), where he led sales and marketing as well
as external affairs while leading the company’s West Coast expansion
and establishing a California office. Mr. Roper was also Vice
President of Sales and Marketing for SCHOTT Solar, the world's
sixth-largest manufacturer of photovoltaic panels. There, he managed
sales, channel distribution, marketing, project engineering and
customer service activities. In addition, he has experience in
the government sector, having served for six years as the manager
of renewable energy programs for the Colorado Governor's Office
of Energy Conservation.
Mr.
Roper holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on renewable
energy systems design and a B.S. in Engineering Physics and Music,
all from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

addition of Mr. Roper marks a two-pronged strategy for Tioga to
best address a boom in power purchase opportunities. While existing
Vice President of Marketing and Channel Sales Matt Lugar will
continue to pursue channel and marketing partnerships with leading
solar installers, manufacturers, and installation contractors,
Mr. Roper will leverage his solar background and industry leadership
to develop new sales opportunities among business, industry and
government audiences.
