New Hires Reinforce Commitment to Growing Global Client Base
SANTA CLARA, CALIF, January 13, 2011—DisplaySearch, an NPD Group Company, along with its affiliated business, Solarbuzz, today announced significant expansions to its global analyst and sales teams to better support its growing global client base. Specifically, the company has added seven market analysts and three sales and client support positions.
“DisplaySearch continues to expand its coverage of the global display supply chain particularly in Asia, to closely track new technologies such as touch, follow fast-growing markets such as photovoltaics and personal computers in China, and stay ahead of evolving product categories such as tablet or slate PCs,” noted Paul Semenza, Senior Vice President, Analyst Services.

Shoko Oi, DisplaySearch Senior Analyst, Touch and Technology Analyst, Tokyo
Shoko Oi will support DisplaySearch’s research in touch screens, as well as emerging display technologies such as OLED, 3D, e-Paper, and flexible displays. She has worked as a market analyst for iSuppli and TSR, and graduated from Sophia University in Japan.
Richard Shim, DisplaySearch Senior Analyst, Mobile PC, Santa Clara
Richard Shim provides research and analysis of mobile PC markets, including notebooks and slate PCs. Shim has studied consumer and commercial PC buying behavior and has extensive knowledge of technologies embedded in PCs. He has worked as an analyst for IDC and a reporter for News.com. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College.
Jae-Hak Choi, DisplaySearch Senior Manufacturing Analyst, Seoul
Jae-Hak Choi specializes in flat panel display equipment and manufacturing technology. Choi previously worked in applications engineering for Orbotech, ADP, and LG Displays. He is a graduate of Soong-Sil University.
Robin Wu, DisplaySearch China PC Market Analyst, Shanghai
Robin Wu specializes in China market research, uncovering trends for PC, monitor, and flat panel markets. Wu previously worked at Lenovo and IBM, and has Bachelor’s and Masters degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology.
Jeff Lin, DisplaySearch PC Value Chain Analyst, Taipei
Jeff Lin is responsible for market research and analysis of the PC monitor value chain and large-area panel roadmap. Jeff’s experience includes BenQ, Samsung Taiwan, and Chunghwa Picture Tubes.
